ITSO IP Awareness Lecture Series 2013

The Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) of Caraga State University has successfully conducted a two-day Intellectual Property Awareness Lecture Series last September 20-21, 2013 at Caraga State University, Ampayon Butuan City. The Lectures were joined by two batches of participants, the College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate students (1st batch) and the Graduate School students (2nd batch). It was held at CAS AVR and CSU Conference room respectively.

The series of lectures were conducted by CSU ITSO Manager Dr. Thelma M. Galliguez, ITSO Technical Staff for Patent Search Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, ITSO Technical Staff for Patent Drafting Mr. Henson M. Dejarme and ITSO Technical Assistant Mr. Kenneth L. Ciudad.

The CSU ITSO Team was willfully dedicate their time in conducting the lecture to promote knowledge of Intellectual Property (IP) rights Law of the Philippines and to encourage and motivate Filipino inventors to the protection of their inventions. Accordingly, there are numerous Filipino inventions and creations that deserve exclusive rights to protect their works from being plagiarized, copied, reproduce and distributed. It happens among other nations and in fact also in the Philippines.

The lectures involved interactive dicussion between the resource speakers and the audiences. The ITSO Team plans to conduct another lectures on IP Rights as to broaden the knowledge of the constituents of Caraga State University and the Filipino as a whole.

The events was formally ended by a remarks by the Dean of College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Dr. Rolando N. Paluga and Dr. Eleazar Galliquez Dean of Graduate School.
