The Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) of Caraga State University conducted a one day Regional Echo Seminar on IP and Global Development at Surigao State College of Science and Technology (SSCT) on June 11, 2014 in Surigao City.
The resource speakers from ITSO and the topics they discussed during the seminar were as follows:
- Dr. Thelma C. Montero-Galliguez – Primer on Intellectual Property
- Mr. Kenneth L. Ciudad – Fundamentals on Patent
- Engr. Jeffrey T. Dellosa - Basic Technology Licensing and Commercialization
- Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil - An Introduction to Patent Information Search
Most of the participants are faculty members of SSCT. All the speakers provided the participants the basic foundation on Intellectual Property and Licensing.
The speakers also highlighted the impact of protecting the output of the faculty members’ research output through IP protection. The ITSO Team encouraged all participants to think twice before publishing their work especially when their research outputs are patentable in nature.
