


In a fitting ceremony, the Caraga State University (CSU) formally launched the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) on February 4, 2014 with Director Carmen G. Peralta, Director of the Bureau of Documentation of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) as the Guest of Honor. Dr. Peralta not only graced the launching of the office but also presented a talk during the regional wide Intellectual Property training hosted by CSU’s ITSO on the same date.
Dr. Joanna B. Cuenca, the President then of Caraga State University with Dr. Thelma M. Galliguez, the General Manager then of ITSO, led all members of the ITSO Team and all other officials, guests and faculty members from the university in the inauguration of the office.
The university invested in the ITSO franchise led by Dr. Cuenca believing that the office will play a crucial part in the future for the delivery of the services required to produce patents and for the protection of intellectual property of the university.
The physical layout of the office was designed in accordance to the requirements of an ITSO as franchisee of the IPOPHL. It has a total of 45 square meters of floor area. The office boasts of a wide receiving area for its customers, the technical expert’s workplace and the conference area. The office is located along with the offices of the Quality Assurance and Management Systems (QuAMS), the Vice President for Research and Extensions, and the Guidance and Counseling.
