CSU joins 2016 SYNERGY, The Philippine Innovation Forum

DR. ANTHONY M. PENASO, Caraga State University (CSU) President, led all delegates from this university to the “2016 SYNERGY: The Philippine Innovation Summit” organized by USAID STRIDE, RTI and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) held last September 21-22, 2016 at the Shangri-La at the Fort, Taguig City.

Dr. Penaso was with Engr. Jeffrey T. Dellosa, TDTLO Director/ITSO Manager, and with Engr. Jefrey Bagasbas, Mr. Kenneth L. Ciudad and Ms. Joy Lyn dela Cruz, Technical Experts of CSU’s ITSO.

The 2016 SYNERGY event brought all university presidents from private and state universities & colleges in the Philippines, with members from the industry and government offices. The theme for this event is “Synergy 2016: Valuing Creativity. Intensifying Innovations. Forging Connections”.

This two-day event highlighted the need for the different stakeholders to engage technology innovation and development as well as technology commercialization. One of the highlights of the event was the pitching compeition aimed at providing opportunities for technologists to present their R&D outputs to willing investors.

His Excellency Philip S. Goldberg, United States Ambassador to the Philippines was present and gave his welcome remarks. He also shared that the projects of USAID STRIDE that focused on sustainable and inclusive growth of the country. He also presented various projects that support education, innovation and research activities in the universities and colleges in the country.
