CSU - ITSO joins 63rd Annual Convention on Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Caraga State University, represented by Dr. Tomas M. Austral, Jr., General Manager of ITSO, attended the annual convention of Philippine Association for the Advancement of Science (PhilAAS) held at Henry Sy, De La Salle University, Taft, Manila last September 11-12, 2014 with the theme of “Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.

The annual convention were participated by the business sectors/investors, state universities and colleges, private universities, local government units, government line agencies, researchers, and students. Speakers who are businessman were invited to deliver a message in relation to the theme. Topics were on agriculture product development, forestry and its products, medicines, value chain in food products, and computer technologies applied to business.

Lessons learned by the attendee are relevant and valuable on how technology and innovation works to entrepreneurship. Addressing issues and concerns on research based technologies, innovative strategies in business, human resource management, viability and feasibility of the business projects, and marketing of products were discussed. With the emerging technologies nowadays, applying to managing small-medium-large business enterprise was a challenge.

Relevant research has a vital role for the creating this technologies and innovation then applying to business that will result to efficiency and effectiveness in managing resources leading to progress and development.  Hopefully, creating relevant programs like research development, innovation & technology for responsive entrepreneurship will be applied to Caraga State University.
