CSU’s ITSO holds 1st Regional Seminar Workshop on Intellectual Property

The Caraga State University’s (CSU) Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) conducted its first Regional Seminar - Workshop on IP and Global Development held last February 4 – 5, 2014 in the CSU Conference Room.

The objective of the training was to provide strong foundation on the subjects of Intellectual Property (IP) and IP Rights that includes all forms of IP Protection such as Copyright, Patent, Utility Model, Industrial Design, and Trademark. Hands-on training on Patent Search was also held to deepen the participants’ knowledge in conducting patent information search.

The speakers for the regional seminar - workshop were:

1.0 Director Carmen G. Peralta, Bureau of Documentation of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL)

2.0 Dr. Thelma M. Galliguez, CSU ITSO’s General Manager (former)

3.0 Mr. Henson Dejarme, Technical Expertof CSU’s ITSO (former)

4.0 Dr. Rolyn Daguil, Technical Expert of CSU’s ITSO(former) 

The training – workshop was attended by representatives of the different state universities and colleges (SUCs) such as the Surigao State College of Technology (SSCT), Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), private university such as the Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU), and offices in the region such as the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Dr. Rolyn Daguil led the patent search workshop with all members of the ITSO Team assisting the participants. The training was facilitated by Mr. Kenneth Ciudad, ITSO’s Technical Staff.
